GDS has the best college matriculation

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that students from GDS with good grades, and not much else outside the classroom, are getting accepted to strong schools like Ivies, Vanderbilt, Emory, Wash U. On the other hand, kids from other schools going to even the less competitive of these schools all seem to have lots of other things going on besides good grades. Just an observation that if getting into a top college if your goal, it pays to go to GDS and just focus on your grades.

How do you know what activities GDS students are or aren't doing?

We are close with many families at the school and our kids are as well. They study for sure but lots of of sleeping in, partying, vacationing compared to my kids peers who are going to those same schools.

Op - i don’t mind if you don’t believe it or if i am wrong. Was just an observation. It’s reflects well on the school and how colleges respect it.

Competitive sports, leading community service organizations, demanding jobs to make money, community leadership in other ways.

Look at GDS’ 2023 college matriculation results and humble yourself. GDS students did horribly that year. One marginally good year (2024) does not warrant a thread. 😝

My kid is friends with three GDS kids from the Class of 2025 (we are at a different school) who are aiming for top schools...and they all have many things going on outside the classroom.

You lumped some colleges in your list that have fairly different admissions standards if you apply ED (Wash U, Emory...Vandy to some extent) vs. REA or RD.
