| Are travel players allowed to also be rostered to an NCSL rec team? |
|
Is there a coach you can ask?
|
| I thought people here would know. That’s why I’m asking. |
| My kid has a friend who plays for Rosa travel and OBGC rec…. It’s a lot, she misses one rec practice per week. This is U12 if that makes a difference.. |
| No. |
| Only u littles can do this. |
| Why would you do this? |
| I know a family that did it at u10. |
| Depends on the Club. We left a club that allowed 1 Travel Player per Rec Team. The skill gap was huge when we did it in 4th grade. The 1 Travel Player destroyed the whole league. Single handedly lead the team to the Rec 4th grade championship. Talking 3-6 goals per game. The club used it as a recruiting tool to entice kids in Rec to try out for Travel. None of those kids switched over, but it was fun when we did it. |
|
Why would you do this?
1. Don't you have enough soccer in your life? 2. Rec families don't WANT travel players in our leagues. It's not fun. |
|
NCSL rules say no, doesn't matter the age.
Rec leagues almost always do not allow carded travel players. |
Bullshit. |
| FCV played three travel players in an NCSL rec match at middle school level, while the opponent had one travel player. |
So all these people posting that it happens in their rec leagues are breaking the rules, yet there are no consequences for it? Do I have that correct? |
No. Each rec league has its own rules. |
