They only take my paper and cardboard and leave the bottles. What’s going on? |
Arlington doesn't. It's too expensive. |
So I throw out my plastics and bottles now? |
Glass, yes. Plastic, no. Although recycling plastic usually involves burning it. |
Maybe they'll do something like Fairfax, where they have giant glass dumpsters all over the county and you take it yourself. It has been a successful program. |
+1 Glass and metal are very recyclable. |
Wait what? They aren’t accepting glass recycling ing anymore? I never heard this. And according to their website they are taking glass — they just don’t take things like drinking glasses (which are not recyclable):

Aluminum can be used over & over again
Glass is trickier but can be recycled - just ait of steps Plastic recycling is a lie https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/environment-plastic-oil-recycling/ https://www.npr.org/2020/09/11/897692090/how-big-oil-misled-the-public-into-believing-plastic-would-be-recycled |
I put out mostly glass and cans, but our OJ bottles are plastic and they took them today. |
Interesting. Glass can also just be cleansed and reused like in many countries, with a deposit on the bottle, but EPA and government won't allow that anymore. |
