Therapist recommendations around UMD

Anonymous
Child posted a cry for help and luckily one of his friends decided to tell his parent, who alerted me. He has been depressed for a while and I saw the signs a few years ago and got him a therapist and he was able to stonewall them and make them think he was fine. He was not.

We brought him home for the weekend but he wanted to go back to school. He has the number for the counseling services but want to be prepared for next steps and to find out if there is someone good who handles young adult depression that is close to campus (doesn't really have private space for Zoom). We are keeping touch points and expect to bring him home on the weekend but I feel like I am just at a point where I am triaging and need to have a way forward.

Any recommendations are welcome and any advice.

Does he have a car? There are several therapy practices in Silver Spring, Bethesda and Rockville that are good. I’ve heard great things about Alvord and Baker in Silver Spring. We personally have had good therapists at Integrative Therapy of Greater Washington in N Bethesda and the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Change in Rockville. Years ago we had a good experience at the Ross Center in Friendship Heights (metro accessible).

My therapist really helped me: CBarnaby.com. I used to see her in her office in Bethesda, but now she only does online video therapy.
