How to stop Canvas/Instructure email spam?

Both my kids have the same settings for email notifications in canvas - Daily or Weekly email notifications for various class events.

When one of them is still getting instant emails for every assignment the teacher touches in any way.

How to I make it stop?

It's awful how real email from teachers gets buried in the robo spamm

In Canvas ("MyMCPS Classroom"), go to Account, then Notifications. You can change settings for the whole account, or for individual courses.

As noted in OP, I already changed the account settings.

I like your idea about per-class settings, but I can't find the in the Canvas phone app.

Synergy is an SIS: student information system. It handles grades, attendance, schedules, course registration, etc. ParentVue and StudentVue are portals to the information within Synergy.
