clothes for 16 year old boy

Anonymous
My son lives in Nike sweatpants and t-shirts. I'm okay with the casual look, but I'd like to get him "nicer" casual wear to have for when we go out to dinner, to a family friends' house, etc. Do boys wear Lululemon? Is there another brand that still is casual (not khakis and a button down), but looks a bit more pulled together than nike sweatpants and a tshirt? Thank you.

Yeah, it's called khakis and polo.

My son would never wear Lululemon but it varies by kid.

+1 Same for mine.

But he really likes H&M for what the OP is looking for. And it is really inexpensive, too.

American Eagle. My DS who wore only sweatpants and t-shirts has finally shown interest in jeans. They also have colored jeans like gray and caramel, looks great in my opinion. My DS was willing to get black for more formal. There is no way my son would wear Lululemon. A 16 yo knows himself what brands he likes, so just ask him. Or if he hasn't heard of a brand, show items online (guys don't really know American Eagle or H&M, they know Nike, Adidas, Under Armour).

H&M, J Crew, and my son likes vintage clothes on Ebay.

Polos. Vuori or Travis Mathew have polos teen boys wear.

This. My 16 year old’s nicer pants are solid black and I have no idea the brand. He has a button down dress shirt and a short sleeve polo shirt in his closet that are rarely worn but are there for occasions like this. He wore them when he went on job interviews too.

He would never wear Lulu since his sister loves it.

Not sure my kid even knows Lulu makes men's clothes.

Khakis and a polo. Dress shirt and tie if he has to be really dressy. I like althetic khakis because they don't wrinkle and I don't have to iron them. We just bought them off Amazon.

Look for pants/shorts marketed as "golf" pants or shorts - they're like khakis but have stretch & movement to them, so way more comfortable.

My teen DS loves Lululemon and gets a lot of his nicer dress pants from there. Definitely $$ though.

Uniqlo would have things.

We've had luck with select pieces from Macy's, Express, Eddie Bauer, and Vineyard Vines.

American Eagle is good for this.

My kids only like expensive stuff—Travis Mathew and Peter Millar are their go tos for polos, quarter zips, sweatshirts. Birddogs khakis and polos. Vuori for shorts and sweatpants. And a few odds and ends from LuLu like athletic shirts, sweatshirts. Tshirts from all of the above.
