the dentist noticed a yellow spot on my daughter's tonsil. he thinks it is a cyst of some sort, but she is going to an ENT next week. anyone have experiences with something like this?
The only thing that comes to mind is a tonsil stone, but I think the dentist would have known what it was. I know it sucks waiting for the ENT, but I'm sure they'll know right away.
Definitely sounds like a tonsil stone (which is gross but trivial). Call your pediatrician and see if he/she can check your kid before bothering with a specialist. If it *is* something else, I would probably not want to wait a week, although I guess if there's no fever it's probably not an infection.
OP here - thanks for the replies. I actually did go to the pediatrician after the dentist. he didn't think it was serious and that it was a cyst, but recommended the ENT. He said the ENT would probably want to remove it if need be.
