| As far as pure fun and college spirit go. I’m guessing it would be between Harrisonburg, Blacksburg, or Charlottesville. But if you think another town fits the bill, I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts as well. |
Harrisonburg? Come on now... |
| Blacksburg for the win! |
|
GMU hands down.
Northern VA is the best place in VA |
DS is living on campus at GMU and having a good time. The school has really come a looong way in terms of activities and school spirit, but Fairfax isn’t like Blacksburg on game day. |
| Blacksburg is the quintessential college town in VA. |
|
Yep, nothing beat tailgating and watching drunk frat boys walking up and down stadium stairs.
|
Why not? The bars there seem to have a cool, quirky vibe. |
no |
Sure things have changed since I attended 90 years ago, but as I recall none of the bars are near campus. Everyone had to drunk drive somewhere. |
Why Not? It’s got tremendous spirit and a lively bar/restaurant scene immediately off campus that is almost exclusively college kids. |
Yes. Yes, it is. It’s certainly not Charlottesville. |
DD goes there and we have eaten at some of those places. They aren’t far from campus and close to where the off campus students live. |
This is Charlottesville, Harrisonburg and Blacksburg. What point are you making? |
DP. Yes, Harrisonburg. It's a cute college town filled with school spirit in the middle of a beautiful valley. |
