What I liked—encouraged me to be the best version of myself, to ask and advocate for what I wanted, to stand up to people who were pushing me down, to be unapologetically successful, to put enjoyment of life at the top of my priority list, to basically treat myself very very well. He under so much learned self-minimization I hadn’t even realized I had absorbed. I helped him judge people better and supported him without judgement during a very difficult period in his life. I hope he thinks I brought value to him as much as I know he did for me. We are still friends. We live on opposite sides of the planet though. |
