Detached Garage Cost

I close on a property in the next couple of weeks. I am looking to build a detached garage with EV charging.

It’s about 20 feet wide and 30 feet long (garage doesn’t need to be this long). It’s a new cement slab. Zone is RF-1.

Anyone have a cost estimate and maybe a good referral for an architect and GC?

Depends on how nice you want it. Could be as cheap as $35,000 or as much as you want. Most would probably average $50,000.

our neighbor recently added a detached 2-car garage and it was well over $100,000. It had some bells and whistles, but I was shocked at the price.

Look at the Amish garages if you want something more affordable. My neighbors added on in MoCo, and I remember being surprised at the how affordable it was. I can't remember the exact price. I think 25-30k.
