Does anyone understand the timeline for the Posse scholarship? My child has made it through a couple rounds, but I still do not understand when or how decisions will be made. Are we supposed to apply ED to another school as a backup?

This seems like a question that someone at the Posse Foundation can easily answer.

Obviously, you can not appoly ED to a school not in your Posse group. You will have to drop out at that point.

This question is repeatedly asked in the Posse Foundation subreddit.

If you made it to round three, they will notify you of this in late October. That means if you didn't make it to round three, you still have time to apply ED wherever you want in early November.

If you are accepted to round three, they will tell you (in late October) which school you are a candidate for. If you don't like that school then you can decline to continue and you still have time to apply ED somewhere else in November.

If you like that school then you are expected to apply ED to that school through Posse. The final interview is held in mid December and you will be notified of their decision immediately. If you are rejected then you apply RD or ED2 somewhere else in January.

Seems like a risky proposition to hold off.
