I think the issue with Flag Star that didn't work well was practices right before the games. In my experience, the kids were so confused due to not enough practice time. There was not enough time to review the rules and plays. As inconvenient it is for us parents, the separate/dedicated practice time in other local leagues seems to lead to far better and more rewarding/less chaotic game play (again, in my experience).

We are VERY happy with Flagstar, but you are right. The McLean Flagstar teams usually only practice for about 20-25 minutes than start that week's game. My son doesn't really understand some of the basics (fade and post routes) and gets confused - so I am working with him on the side. That being said, I think he would enjoy it much better if they had a little more practice time and covered some of the basics at least once. All that being said, my DS still loves it.
