I am asking specific to semaglutide prescribed for weight loss —before— one develops diabetes.
Thanks in advance. |
No. |
It probably depends on how overweight the person is and what other factors. You should ask your doctor, or call whatever numbers you can find on the back of your cards. None of us will really have the answer. |
I did not realize that you have a composite understanding of all medications taken - and subsequent payment coverage of - everyone who has or indeed MAY IN THE FUTURE see my question. It's in the formulary for this DC managed care organization, so it seems at least some people can get it https://www.amerihealthcaritasdc.com/apps/formulary-medicaid/
But whether it will be covered for an off-label use, even if prescribed, I don't know. |
Yes |
Yes it covered for diabetics |
Wegovy is not prescribed for diabetes. |
No medicaid won't cover anything preventative at all. |
sure we will. medicaid won't cover it preventatively. |
Okay, the “yes” and “no” monosylabics cancel one another out, yes? Or is it, no?
For those of you who are curious, both Ozempic (scripted for diabetes) and Wegovy (scripted for weight loss) are BOTH Semaglutide (and there are many, many more of these peptides in the works to be launched. Special thanks to post at 20:17 - I have never been so happy to see a government form. You are the doing the work of the angels, my friend. I promise I will pay it forward. THANK YOU! |
Wow, you’re welcome. I hope all our insurances pay for it soon. I’m at a private company so chances seem low for 2025. |
No, stop eating candy and junk food. Eat more protein and vegetables.
Even with insurance, wegovy is $800/month. Use that money to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Go for a walk every day. Speed walk. That’s what will ward off diabetes. |
Amen |
