Dual citizen common app question

Anonymous
My ds put US citizen in common app instead of dual citizen (he is a US citizen + another citizenship) Do you think it matters greatly?

Nobody cares. My dual citizen kid put his dual citizenship. It doesn't matter.

My dual citizen kid listed that she was a dual citizen. Does it matter? Who knows.

I am irritated my the extraneous information requested on forms these days. Why does a college care if you have duel citizenship? I fully believe the school is selling this information.

Totally unrelated, but I had to complete a form for my flu shot vaccine appt. They wanted to know my gender assigned at birth. What does that have to do with the flu vaccine? I am getting old and cranky so I if I don’t think the question is pertinent, I ignore. Carry on, rant over 😁

And what if a student has more than 2 citizenships? They need to pick and deny part of their identity?

My guess, only a guess, is that colleges are only interested in understanding whether student is classified as “international”. That category usually means a student visa will be required and usually means student will be full-pay.
