So super shocked at how super humid pennsylvania is! I had no idea it was more humid that the DC area up here. Yesterday it was 100% humidity (without it raining!) and the dew point in the upper 60's! Nuts. Checked DC to compare 80's humidity and 60's dew point. What's making it so humid here? Reminds me of Iowa and all the corn fields making it that humid but...worse lol. Do you notice the higher humidity when in PA than the NOVA/DC area? |
Where are you in PA? It was probably just a weird day. Generally I find it to be the same or better as compared to DC. |
You're talking about...one day?
Also PA is a big state with a lot of hills and mountains. Where are you talking about? |
No, not just a day! In Central PA for about 5 weeks and have another 4-5 to go. I compared it on weather.com to DC weather because it just has felt so much more humid and every time I've checked during the day DC has been less humid than here. Who knew! |
No, not just a day! Central PA. I just posted above. |
What's the elevation there? I think lower elevation means more humid, unless you are in the desert (I'm originally from CA where more humid = living near the ocean). |
Are you in the low lying areas near the Susquehanna River? |
We have been having a strange year of weather. Look at climate charts for historical averages. |
We have a tropical storm go through that area recently. You might have read about it. |
Even in spring it's humid there! |
Well kind of yes. It's the river that makes in humid? |
Topography increasing in elevation as you go away from Philly, and geographic proximity to the Atlantic. Orographic. |
Sigh. We've had one too many of these moronic generalization threads recently.
Can you not falsely extrapolate one day's weather to the entire annual climate of an entire state? Is this truly beyond your intellectual capacity, OP? Can your critical thinking skills not stretch that far? |
I mean, my house in the DC suburbs is unpleasantly humid today. The mid atlantic region has had an unusually humid fall, with several depressions bringing rainfall, plus a little something called remmants of hurricane Helene. Which, as PP suggested, you might, perhaps, have heard about. |
One days weather???? What? Guess you didn't read the thread before spewing your nasty HATE for no reason. Well, lol you look like a fool AND a MORON! |
