Okay, so finally understanding swimcloud a bit better and it is pretty neat. The new season started and surprisingly the first meet for my swimmer showed time drops in every event (maybe a growth spurt here to thank). I know generally swimmers should treat the first meet like time trials and oftentimes there are not time drops because their best time was the Spring of last year (when they were at the peak of their training). Now they were off in August and just starting to get back into it. This I get. But, why does Swimcloud only show PB and not the time drop? Does it automatically treat the first meet like time trials as well? |
As you’ve suggested, it’s probably because it shows improvements during the current season, not lifetime. |
First meet of the season is Time Trials. If you are a higher end swimmer you are not likely to have gains from the prior season (minimal at best). Younger kids make big strides, time drops as they learn. Kids that grow and go through puberty do as well. Most had a month off and have only been in the water for a few weeks - they will not be at their PBs. |
