| Where can I buy a good black forest chocolate cake tomorrow afternoon, between downtown DC and Gaithersburg? Trying not to go too far out of my way / usual commute. I can place an order first thing in the morning if need be, but obviously can’t order any farther in advance. 8-10”? Not picky about size. Thank you! |

| I know you didn't include Arlington in your range, but you might want to give the Heidelberg Bakery a call tomorrow if you don't find another place. I believe they might carry them. Everything out of the Heidelberg is good. |

| Potomac Sweets in Kensington but I don’t know if they’re open Thursday afternoons. Their website says they are but when you order a cake it’s says you have to pick up by 1 pm so I’d call to confirm. |

I searched “Black Forest cake” while looking at Gaithersburg in Google maps and a few options came up.
Stella’s bakery looks the most promising European Banery, 4.5 stars, and this review “ I bought the Black Forest cake and it was one of the best that I ever have.” They open at 8am so I would call first thing. |

| This is Google Maps pp: Classic bakery looks like another potential option, and they have online ordering. Black Forest Cake is under signature cakes on their menu fyi. Reviews look good for this one too. |

Stella’s (Rockville) makes them but you should call and see if they have one in store tomorrow since it’s too late for preorder.
Their mousse cakes are so good and there are always some available, so that’s a decent Plan B! |

| I’ll vouch for classic bakery. Never gotten Black Forest, but have gotten 5-6 different ones over the years and they’ve all been outstanding. |

Stella’s also has a great almond cake with marzipan or something. Delicious. Now o want Black Forest cake from Stella’s.
Also RIP cafe Mozart in downtown DC that had a great Black Forest cake. |
