Tell me about how the DC Soccer Tournament Works

This is the first year my kid is eligible (2nd grader) How does the tournament work? Do they put together a couple of teams out of all the 2nd graders nominated from the various teams and then have them play each other? I'm just curious how it works. Thanks.

Is the "DC Soccer Tournament" a real event? Cause if not you are way out of your depth...there are many many many many tournaments.

It’s called The District Cup. First weekend of December.

Op here. I was referring to the All Stars Tournament. My son is in second grade so I didn't realize it was new this year. I think my son has a good chance to be nominated, so I was wondering. If it's new, nobody knows anything. Thanks.
