Do girls wear corsages to homecoming?

At DD's high school, girls with dates have corsages from their dates (they buy their dates bouteneirs, and I'm quite sure I spelled that wrong). They also started getting together in girl groups the day of the dance and making themselves bouquets.

I don't think it's a big thing. My daughter's date last year brought her a single rose. We looked into getting him a bouttonniere; but they were too ridiculously expensive. Corsages are pricey and I doubt it's a standard expectation now. |
