Wow, what a fine world that Biden and Harris have left us. A vote for Harris is a vote for more of the exact same from the Biden administration that has completely ruined global order in 4 years. Trump was right, we are sleepwalking into WW3 under this admin and Harris.
Let me guess, as soon as Iran drops bombs on Israel we are going to mobilize for a full scale invasion of Iran at the behest of Israel who doesn’t listen to anything we say. Yay, here goes another $5 trillion USD flushed down the toilet in the crap hole known as the Middle East. This is getting worse by the day. Now we will have full scale war in Ukraine and the Middle East dragging in even more countries. Harris is going to be a disaster. |
Forgot to add - the expect ICBM attack is expected from Iran |
Seems very unlikely that the U.S. will invade Iran over anything short of a successful nuclear strike on Tel Aviv. It's one thing to send warships to the area and engage in some air strikes. It's another altogether to send troops into a hostile country with more than a half-million soldiers. The Biden administration has given Israel far too much leeway, but that would involve far higher costs for the U.S. than anything they've backed so far. |
And if you think Trump would be less belligerent or less pro-Israel, you might want to review his administration's policies toward Palestine, his choice to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, or his decision to assassinate the head of the Revolutionary Guard. |
I agree that GOP would be even more fiercely pro Israel but you know, our position of defending and supporting Israel regardless of any actions they take is really what the policy is on both sides of the fence. I would expect more from Democrats given how they differentiate from Republicans.
The fact that they aren't standing up to Israel even though it's obvious, there is disgruntlement is disappointing. In other words, I disagree but respect with GOP for their convictions but at least they have the power of their convictions. Half ass foreign policy is not the way to go in any foreign policy. |
This was exactly the foreign policy we had under Trump. The strange thing about this election is that we already had a Trump presidency but everyone apparently blotted it out of their memory so they think he is a fresh new candidate. Very strange. |
It has started . . . |
That's why AIPAC supports Trump. They know he will bomb Iran. |
Do we have a treaty with Israel or is this just left up to the president? Israel has attacked Iran multiple times and has committed at least three acts of war against Iran.
Why are we involved? The only way the war spreads is if we get involved. Let Israel suffer the consequences and they will stop bombing, assassinating and invading. Iran has shown great restraint with regards to Israel. |
ballistic =/= nuclear
Do not confuse the two. |
They are half assed because those are the electoral incentives they face. They have a loud contingent that opposes Israel and then a lot of people who are less loud that won't vote for Dems unless they support Israel. And ironically the loud contingent (young activists) is not a reliable voting bloc so that's why they get lip service whereas those that support Israel get the $$ and weapons. |
So you are blaming US support of an ally for Iran launching a missile? |
Doesn't Iran fund Hezbollah, which has been attacking Israel for a year now in solidarity with Palestinians and Hamas after October 7? |
I have no clue what any US President could do about this. Netanyahu would've escalated regardless. This whole thing scares me. |
As an American with no personal dog in this fight, it felt bizarre this morning to see the headlines. The White House, representations the American people, had literally threatened a sovereign nation that they better not engage in any activity that is basically the least egregious of what Israel has been doing persistently for the past 75 years. Other nations have to take the abuse, but better not dare fight back? Are we for real? WTF is going on?! |
