| We are about to embark on a condo renovation and the architect just provided me the appliance specs. All look good save the 2.26 cubic feet washer - that's gonna be a nightmare. Does anyone have suggestions for a small washer with a larger cubit feet capacity? Grateful for any leads. |
| The LG wash tower is great. Not sure if it would fit for you. |
| A 2.26 ft3 capacity sounds like a 24" wide machine. Why can't you fit 27" wide machines? We have Bosch 24" stackables, and love them, because we did not have the width for side-by-sides and did not have the ceiling height for 27" width stackables since they are taller also. If you are worried about the capacity, tell the architect that you want space for 27" machines. |
This is NYC. Lucky to even get in unit machines in our building. I prefer SBS as I’m in my mid-60s and stackable can be hard for me - always missing something in the dryer. Unfortunately Miele doesn’t sell a 27” machine so will see if Bosch does. TY! |
| We have the Miele 24in and can wash a king comforter. I have three kids and we have no issue keeping up with laundry due to the size of the machine. Bonus that the dryer is heat pump, ideal for apartment/condo situations. |
| Speed Queen makes the narrowest width SBS. |
Really? Appliance guy told me queen. This is helpful. Thanks for the feedback. |
| The thickness of the comforter matters as much as its size. We have a 2.27 cu ft (17 gallon) washer, and a king comforter would have to be pretty thin to fit in there and still be able to close the door. We sleep on a king bed but use two individual, smaller comforters or blankets (my wife is cold and needs a comforter, I'm hot so a blanket is better for me). Maybe individual covers would be a better solution for you, rather than letting a big comforter dictate what washer you get. Our dryer is bigger BTW, a 27" Whirlpool. |
