Hospitality, Advertising English or a science major?

Anonymous
DD wanted business but we think it's too math heavy. (I posted before about this)
Thought about social entreprenuership

She has started to explore other options.

4.61 weighted,
34 superscore (30 math, 34 English, 36 Science and reading)

ECs' are average-- a few sports, some tutoring, work, and minor club

essay good

highest math AP Stat this year and pre calc last year
Took physics and bio (not AP) and AP Environmental but didn't pass AP test, got a B
has taken language up to 5 (A's)
various English (AP Lang, AP lit)

Sort of all over the place.. any ideas?

Said would consider Advertising or Hospitality... can always switch just need her to get in.
Also likes marine bio but doesn't want to pursue as a career.

Totally agree. Just meant what to declare to apply/get in.

Just do english for now. At least she'll work on her analytical and writing skills, which translates to advertising, etc. Don't start with hospitality if you don't have experience in it and love it. It's a hard career and also not available at a lot of schools.

Why would you talk her out of business? She sounds perfectly smart ... just a little uneven.

Yes true but it sounds fun and cool experiences. It is more narrow though. Just may be boring. She would apply hospitality at the few schools who have it.. will see. Maybe she should do business and see where the chips fall?!

I totally agree she's smart. But she doesn't enjoy math and doesn't believe me that it's math heavy. In addition, I'm worried it will hurt he chances of acceptance without calc or Econ and her "weaker" math score in this crazy college climate
