Recently started to go shopping at Aldi's for the past few days and I came across the cereals that looked like they were knockoff brands, (they even have different off brands for other popular brands like Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Pebbles, etc.) Do you personally buy these for your kid and you don't really bother by the difference?
Image from reddit to show an example of one of them. |
| Just like everything in alidis it's hit or miss. |
| Lay off on ALDI's cereal OP, some of the cereals they sell that are offbrands are actually more nutritional and taste better than a General Mills or Kellogg's cereal. |
| I like Aldi cereal. It’s just as good or better than the other brands. |
| For the most part, it’s absolutely fine. I like their bran flakes and granola. My son will not, under any circumstances, eat their “Cheerios.” |

The Cinnamon Toast Crunch is weird - like a cross between the real deal and Golden Grahams. Cocoa Puffs are a bit off too but look the same. My kids don’t mind though.
We also get the Aldi Raisin Bran, Honey Bunches of Oats, and frosted mini wheats. They are all good. |
| The fake "Life" cereal at Aldi is good, not noticeably different from the Quaker Life that is twice the price. Can recommend the Giant brand fake Life too, and no complaints about the frosted shredded what or bran flakes from Aldi, Lidl or Giant. |
| My daughter loves the Reeses's Puffs off-brand from Aldi's. I have frequently gone to Aldi since they opened it (the one in Bel Pre). |
Aldi's version of Honey Bunches of Oats and the version with almonds is almost identical. Been buying that for a few years now; but it's not been there the last few times I went, so hoping they haven't discontinued it. |
The Aldi cereals we've gotten have been good. Can't say we've tried the ones you mentioned. Nevertheless, they're cheap enough - just buy some and try them. |

TMI but The ones like Marshmallow Stars make my pee bright yellow due to the added nutrients.
I stick to boring ones like Oat Os and Bran Flakes. |

Post probably makes Aldi’s cereals:

Looks like The General lost interest in working for car insurances to be a mascot for a cereal brand. |
| Given the choice between real garbage and imitation garbage, choose option 3. |
| Their bran flakes are really good. Corn flakes, too. I’ve never bought breakfast cereal with marshmallows, so I can’t comment there. |
