Dress my HUSBAND please!

I usually dress him no problem, but he’s saying he needs a collar or button down shirt for work from home meetings. He just started a new government job.

BUT when he wears button downs and jeans, it’s very unattractive. He tucks in the shirt and he looks 75 years old. (He has a belly). He looks like his dad…

Can he wear…a crew neck sweater? A zip neck? He says it’s too casual.

I’m searching online. I usually dress him.
Links appreciated!

I mean, you both know the solution: lose the belly! It is SO easy for men to lose weight and gain muscle, so there is no excuse.

I know. But even before the belly, the button down tucked into jeans look is NOT my favorite.

What’s appropriate for a 45 year old man to wear at home?

I think a sweater with a shirt underneath is fine.

If the guy wants a button-down, get him one. Geez.

He has ONLY button downs. I am looking for him to branch out!

Sweater seems fine. I know people who wear those comfortable golf polos too, that’s fine for our internal meetings.

DH works from home about 50%, and is constantly on zoom meetings. He is 55 yrs old and has a belly.

He usually wears a button down, either alone or with a sweater (crew or vneck) or quarter-zip vest or sweater/pullover.

In the summer, he often wears a polo shirt.

On his bottom half he wears jeans or khakis, although if this is for wfh that part doesn’t matter

My DH puts a button down over a t-shirt and takes it off after meetings/teaching. Have him do that if his appearance offends you so much.

I suspect he just needs better fitting shirts or jeans. It's the most neutral male outfit that exists, if it looks that bad the fit is probably bad.

They make no tuck button downs…

try a subtly patterned golf polo.

how awful can he look in a button won shirt sitting at a table or desk?

I’m married to your husband. The answer is sweater vests and waistcoats.

Collars and co has polos meant to worn under sweaters and zip ups that look like button downs.

Why can't he wear the shirts untucked?

I think a nice sweater would be a fine alternative to a button down, but I also think adults are able to choose their own clothes even if they don't always pick the most flattering choices!
