Are there any areas in Fairfax that has underground power lines?

Outside of the City of Fairfax (Fairfax addresses, but unincorporated) most of the lines are buried. Look at 22033 zip code, for example.

Thanks OP here - we were looking at the Fairfax county. Any areas maybe in Langley, Oakton, McLean, Woodson school district that may have underground power lines? We are planning to move to the area and the places we have been touring we are not seeing many underground power lines. We currently live in Prince William with area that has underground power lines and have not had any issues with power outage over last 10 years so wanted to check. Appreciate all your responses.

Yes, we are near Oakton HS and most of the residential neighborhoods around the school have buried lines. The main thoroughfares do not.

I live on a street with buried lines and I don't have frequent or long outages, but be realistic: all buried lines come above ground somewhere, even if just at the sub station, and that spot can have issues that lead to outages.

This. Our neighborhood has buried power lines, but we have had outages. Power lines are often above ground at some point before they come into neighborhoods. And in fact we had an outage that had to do with a problem with the buried power line. Yes, they dug up and replaced.

Figure out what grid the hospital and fire stations are on. Those areas always come on quickly. I don’t know who you would call to find this out. I always learned by living in the area and talking to the neighbors.
