MCPS school profiles

Anyone know when these will be updated? The data are from the 2022-2023 school year.

I don't know but at this point it seems they have given up on them. I was vaguely worried this would happen when they announced stopping the Schools at a Glance publication.

We’re not through MP1. MCPS moves very slowly. If it does get updated, I would expect it by Dec at the earliest.

I thought I read somewhere that they weren't doing them anymore and are using Maryland report card instead.

Maryland Report Card is also still showing 2022-23 data.

I know they haven't posted 2023-24. I said what I said because they have to dedicate man hours and time to sort through the data, quality control it, break it out by school and then upload it to the public facing dashboard.

Should this have been over the summer before this school year started? Sure. But MCPS doesn't do what makes sense and they likely had other priorities in the office of shared accountability that bumped this to the back. It would be good if they publicly set expectations by stating when these profiles would be updated each year, so people aren't left guessing and wondering. But again, that would take competency, leadership and organization that has been fundamentally lacking at MCPS for years.

This information used to be available more timely in the Schools at a Glance publication so it seems they stopped doing something they used to do in the past.
