Carpet or paint

Planning to paint and put new carpet down in my new condo. Condo currently had old carpet that needs replacing. What order do you recommend for the work--painting first, or carpet first?

I am putting in carpet, not wood or LVP. The cost for the latter two would be an overprovement for the "neighborhood". I am providing an explanation to you as a courtesy, did not need to by the way.

You always do top-down. Paint ceilings, then walls, then do floors.

Best way is removing carpet first. It kick up a ton of dust and you don't want that dust settling on your freshly painted walls. And it is hard to paint down to the bottom of the walls if carpet is in the way.

Then paint, then put on new flooring.

Paint first but you may need to touch up the baseboards after.
