Older guest (secondary) players

This is about MSI classic. On their website, they mention that the team could have secondary players registered.

It also says you can play up, but not play down with the 6mo exception to let kids play within their own grade.

However, is it possible that those secondary players be older players from a travel team?

If they meet the age requirements for the division per MSI Classic rules (it’s usually defined as born after July of a specific year), then yes, an MSI Classic player can be double carded to a travel team. For example, a Dec 2012 bday would be U12 for MSI Classic (which essentially has school year age groupings) but U13 for travel (birth year rules). However, MSI Classic does not allow guest players like in travel leagues. So the secondary player is one of your x number of roster slots. You can’t just bring in a guest player not on your approved roster for the season because you have a short bench. There are also rules about how many secondary carded players a team can have. It’s all on the MSI websites.

Great to know, thanks! I assumed that the secondary players were separate from the roaster.
