| We need a new car. Three kids ranging ages 7-13, and we do carpool often. Current car is a pilot. Open to more expensive brands. Suggestions? I’m overwhelmed in the search. |
| I’d atleast provide some details on what is important to you in a car. |
| Minivan! |
| You’ll want a 3 row. |
| You'll likely be doing college trips before this car dies and your kids will drive it too. |
| Fully loaded pathfinder. |
| If you're really going to use the 3rd row a lot, there are YouTube videos comparing 3rd rows of different SUVs. Or, there's always a minivan. |
| I like chevy traverse but with the two seats in the middle, not the bench. Other SUVs also might have the same layout. |

We’ve had a Honda Odyssey, Buick Enclave, and a Volvo XC90 over a 17-year span.
The Honda was amazing but it was not great in snow/ice. I miss the trunk space and the ability to fit many adults comfortably. I thought I was too cool and needed an SUV but I often wish I still had that minivan. The Buick interior was huge for an SUV but I think I had a lemon. I was constantly bringing it in for electronic problems. The Volvo has been really nice and, now that we have no car seats, my teens can sit three-across in the back and we rarely have to use the third row, but it is nice to have. |
| You need a minivan. |
| Toyota Sienna |
| Yep. Toyota Sienna for sure. |
Get the hybrid version. |
|
Odyssey Elite.
$10k less than Sienna and not underpowered. |
| I am on dirt roads a lot so didn’t want a minivan but am happy with a Honda Pilot which seats 8. I got a used one but the new ones have a second row which can be made into captains chairs if you want. |
