My kindergarten DD is really into reading chapter books so would love any ideas for this age. To be clear, I read the books to her (she can’t read yet).
We have already read the Amelia Bedelia and Dory Fantasmagory series’. |

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle
Flat Stanley McBroom books by Sid-Fleischman Gail Carson Levine’s Princess Tales My Father’s Dragon Boxcar Children Beverly Cleary Magic Treehouse Pippi Longstocking Just-So Stories by Kipling (get an illustrated version) Not a chapter book, but I highly recommend The Quiltmaker’s Gift by Jeff Brumbeau. It has more text than an average picture book, gorgeous illustrations, and a charming story. | I commented on the other thread and still recommend Tuntum and Nutmeg and anything by Dick King-Smith. Also The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. If she likes it, there are many books in the series. I also really enjoyed the Toys Go Out trilogy. |
| We’ve really enjoyed the magic faraway tree series by Enid Blyton. I think we have read it through three times so far. |
