Saks Off 5th-- buyer beware

Buyer beware before you shop at Saks Off 5th! Saks Off 5th promises refunds for online returns within 5 days. I've been waiting for my refund for some time now, but 3 customer service reps have now told me that it will take 30 days to get a refund. If anyone has had this experience and has advice for expediting the refund process, I'd appreciate your advice.

I think if this is an issue, you’re shopping way too close to the financial edge. Rethink your budget.

It's not just off 5th. The main Saks does the 30 day thing, too. I got into it with CS not too long ago because it states "within 30 days." I called on day 29 and asked why in 2024 does it take that long for a refund? Other retailers refund within a few days of receiving returns. She was unhelpful, but what a coincidence that I saw the refund a couple of hours later.

My only advice is to be patient and wait until day 29.

You're sweet to be concerned about my financial situation, but that's not the issue at all. I just don't like the idea of buying from a business that routinely lies to its customers and has incompetent systems in place, but you do you.

Thanks for your understanding and empathizing. Needless to say, I'm done shopping at either Saks Off 5th or Saks, even though I live right around the corner.

This happened to me in February. I’d actually forgotten about it and appreciate the reminder.

Saks Off 5th kept delaying the promised date for issuing a refund until I got American Express involved. Then, within days they refunded my money. Needless to say, I will never shop at Saks Off 5th again.

There are other retailers who do this too. It's not unique to this store but I'm surprised Saks does it.

I am going through the same thing with both Saks and Off 5th. What makes it worse is that I ordered the same items in different sizes and I'm wearing them. It's not about the money hanging out there but just not understanding how they can get away with this. They wait until day 30 to approve the refund and then give themselves another 7 to process the refund. It is ridiculous. I'm currently on day 31 of my return saga.
