PSAT Practice 1 vs real PSAT

Can someone compare who did it last year the difference in the score of one vs the other.

I forget the exact scores but I feel like DC got mid 1400's in the practice and then kind of bombed the actual test (720V/680M), so no NMSF.
Make sure your kid knows how to use Desmos - that was an issue for mine.

Yeah, 40 points less sounds right. He did get a good SAT score in the end (1540/1560 superscore), but he had to work at it!

My kid just got 1410 on the practice , math was easier than probably the real test but just cant get above 670 for English

It's the built in/online calculator. The test makers assume your kid will use it and set the timing accordingly. My kid wasn't using Desmos on the PSAT and he ran out of time.

Thanks! Kid has text-to-speech accommodation and needs to do some practice to get familiar with that capability, so I’ll make sure they practice with the calculator too.

I'm not exactly sure about the PSAT but I think the SATs are normed between administrations so that the scores are comparable between administrations.
