Help me make a wallowing in heartbreak mix tape

Anonymous
Gen X “kid” here. DH is cheating, never comes home and I need a really good cry. Please help me make a classic mix tape type playlist that will help me get it all out in a few big ugly cries, or to play in the background when I need a little cry.

Doesn’t have to be straight 80s, love pretty much all music so not even stuck on a genre specifically. I want stuff that feels sad, not just sad words. Like no Rammstein that I have to listen to the words- prefer if the song has that classic cheesy angsty feel.

I’ve already got U2, Don Henley, John Secada, Billy Joel, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Boys II Men, Taylor Swift, Dave Matthew’s Band, Cheap Trick, Journey, Nazareth, Tony Rich Project, Poison, Chicago…

Would Love anyone to throw out suggestions to add to my misery!

You need Celine Dion. Also, Chris Isaak's Somebody's Crying song sounds right up your alley.

The only suggestions I could make are relatively recent 00s songs...

Adele, Rolling in the Deep

OP here - fine with anything! I went old school as it brings be back to that angsty time in a comfortable shoe kind of way, but appreciate any suggestions!

Landslide by Fleetwood Mac

It's my favorite major breakup song.

REM Everybody Hurts

I think you need to add some woman power songs as well Like Gloria Gaines, I Will Survive or Melissa Etheridge Like the Way I Do or Alanis Morissette You Oughta Know

Maybe I’ll make a separate upbeat play list! These are great! I can’t think of any off hand but Heart or Pat Bennetar must have some awesome f u songs!

OP here - just added some Pink, Prince and Sinead to my boohoo list and started the girl Power list.

Nice!! I'm the poster he suggested the upbeat list. That's really helped me when I was going through a very bad time with an X. After feeling so sad, I had to get through my anger. And pink is awesome for that! I love so many of her songs
