Ranking local Boys volleyball teams

My DS played for a club team last year and is interested in exploring additional tryouts this time around. From tournaments we have seen some other local club teams play but do not know about their coaching style, how much playing time everyone gets, etc.

How are the local clubs for boys ranked or regarded?

For boys teams - St James and MVP are the more competitive ones around here

MDJRS and AVC are also pretty good

Columbia is trying to put together boys club teams this year too.

Also, how old is your son?

Thanks for the recommendations. Had to look up AVC - is that Annapolis? Too far.

He is 14 - has time but want to learn more in general before tryouts.

St James has a few teams that are probably nationally ranked.

I posted above about the club options. My son is trying out for 14U, too. There aren’t many competitive options in this area, unfortunately. MVP and St James are the most competitive in our age bracket.
