Gestational Diabetes without induction or a c-section- Is it possible?

Anonymous
I have GD and have been able to keep it in control with diet and exercise. Despite my efforts, as my due date quickly approaches, I am feeling like there is no possibility I will be allowed to go to term and/or deliver w/o a c-section. Anyone out there who has had a successful vaginal delivery with GD? If so, did you have a size ultrasound? How did your baby measure? If you have GD and were induced did you have a successful vaginal delivery? If you had a c-section, when/how was that decided? How big did your baby measure via ultrasound and what was his/her birth weight?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You'll get more responses if you post this on the expectant moms forum. To answer your question, YES, you can have GD, manage it well with diet and exercise, and go on to have a vaginal birth. I'm a childbirth education instructor. Most of the women in my classes who have developed GD do just that.

I had GD and had a vaginal delivery, baby was 7lb 14 oz., and they thought she was smaller via the ultrasound. I didn't have a "size" ultrasound. They were going to induce me about 4 days before my due date but my water broke a few weeks before. Everything was fine after I healed up in about 4 weeks.
