Seeking Recommendation for MCPS English H9 Tutoring

Anonymous
Since we've established that MCPS H9A English isn't sufficient, what is a good supplemental program? I'd like something that meets in person, requires reading a full book and then writing essays. The teacher should facilitate discussions about the literature and correct essays to elevate the writing. I know Writeopia has Creative Writing classes but I don't think that's what I'm looking for. Or may it is and I just don't know it.

Here's your opportunity to let that entrepreneurial spirit you have beneath the attorney skills you possess to shine through. Don't be disheartened if it doesn't work at first. Once you create it, market it here.

My student reads full books in McPs English. However, OP you really don’t need to pay at tutor for this if you have a good grasp of English. Assign your kid a book (preferably one you’ve read or get a novel study off Amazon or Rainbow resource) and have them write a paper.

AoPS has English classes. Not sure if they go up through high school, but we did them for ES and they were excellent.

Why exactly would you do this to a 9th grader if they don't need help or remediation?

Enroll in an IB program.

That only works if your MS/HS offers IB. If it's not available and you have to wait for AP, you have to wait until 11th.

When the bar is so low, everyone can pass. Based on existing standards, most kids don't need help or remediation. What they need is a higher level of expectation.
