40something. I got a raise and promotion this year; have some savings.
1) Bally handbag; I currently carry a longchamp (for lack of something that excites me). 2) Diamond studs: I own a pair of smaller princess-cut ones that i bought in my 30s. I wear them daily but want to upgrade. 3) New car (yes not fashion but the other option): car is ten year old, has fewer than 100K miles but a bunch of niggling issues. |
| None of the above. I would look into an 18kt bangle style bracelet, no diamonds, or small 18kt gold hoops/huggies. The gold will hold its value longer than a new car. |
| No. 3 sounds like a completely different price range than the other two... |
| No. 2. |
| I'd buy the upgraded studs since you wear them everyday. |
| #2 plus a mini vacation. Congrats on your promotion! |
| New car - it would have some cool features and be so much safer than your current 10-year-old car. |
Not op but which bangle would you suggest? In the market for one myself but haven't found any good ones yet. |

I think I'd go with the car. Expensive purses always seem to me like a huge waste of money. The diamond studs are nice, but I can't see driving around in a 10 year old car just so you can have slightly bigger diamonds in your ears.
It's not even that I'm so practical, but just the difference between one size and another size diamond is just not exciting to me. If it were a cool trip, or even something nice for the house (fancy new comforter, great new couch, beautiful piece of art, incredible coffee/espresso machine, etc.), I'd probably pick it over the new car. |

Buy cheap lab diamond studs and a quality fake bag, and then you can also afford the new car.
|
| The car unless you have enough saved to replace it when it goes or repairs are becoming more frequent. |

I had a milestone birthday recently. I bought myself a beautiful dress that cost 2-3x what I would normally spend and a trip to Italy. I may also add in a new bag b/c my favorite brand came out with a new color that is stunning.
Out of your choices, OP, I would go with the car. I agree with the posters who said slightly bigger diamonds are kind of a waste. Sounds like you have means, so maybe the car for practicality and a new bag. |
| I am buying a retractable double clothesline for my laundry room |
| Diamonds are forever |
Car! |
