Political Discussion
| Housing is waaay down, his economic policies have not worked, tax increases will even be worse for the economy. Now isn't the time to be on vacay, now is the time to start selling the American public is potent snake oil. Carter 2.0. |
| I didn't vote for him but get over it. They all take vacations and it isn't like he is just sitting on a beach, I am sure you relaize that. |

So what you really want is for the man with one of the world's largest burdens on his shoulders ("leader of the free world", country going through very tough times, leading a war, etc) to take zero days off in the year? The President is always working - I don't for a minute believe he can escape a daily briefing and discussion on critical issues even when on vacation. But EVERYONE needs to try to take a break to refresh their perspective and internal resources. He still has a long two years left at a minimum and whether you like his policies or not, he's the President - we all need for him to be able to keep going. As a man w/ 2 young kids and a world of pressures, sometimes that means taking a break for a bit.
And talk about hypocritical - Bush took very long stretches off to go back home, including over Katrina. But whether he was in TX or LA, Katrina was still going to happen; I never saw much point in lambasting the President for not being in the WH every day of the year. |
Were you in coma for eight years? Of course, Bush was criticized and was Clinton and every other President. This president should have a vacation and he should be come circumspect particularly when the economy is not picking up but going backward. Too many people cannot afford foor and shelter and appearance is everything and going to a "rich man's" playground for two weeks vacation is frivilous. |

Yes, you can definitely fix an economy by working a few extra days.
I see you are holding up your party's end of the bargain: Step 1: oppose economic recovery plan Step 2: propose no credible stimulus plan of your own Step 3: wait until the midterm elections Step 4: complain (**you are here**) So what would you like to do, OP? What is your snake oil? I'm tired of hearing the peanut gallery complain. I'd like to know what your recovery plan is. Assuming you are not on 'vacay' right now. |
I'm not the president. I didn't campaigh with a slogan, "A Change We Can Believe In." I don't believe in an economy that is still going south; a war that is escalating in Afghanistan; rampant unemployment. The midterm elections are not going to be a vote of confidence in him and, it the economy doesn't make a drastic change for the better, 2012 may see him deated. |

"The midterm elections are not going to be a vote of confidence in him and, it the economy doesn't make a drastic change for the better, 2012 may see him deated. "
Then, he'll be gone! What's your problem? |
+1. Worst people in the world? Folks who are still Republicans, instead of hanging their heads in shame. |
Another buck passer. Then point me to the Republican you feel has the answer that you believe in. Otherwise, back to the peanut gallery for you. |
| OP, I didn't vote for him either, but get over it. Really. This makes you look small, and gives the Dems just one more example they can point to of the lunatic right. Take a deep breath, shut down your laptop and go take a walk already. |
| I heard that "I vacationed with Obama" t-shirts are being outsold on Martha's Vineyard by shirts featuring a picture of GWB and the phrase "Miss me yet?" On Martha's Vineyard. |
You're bored again, aren't you? |
The damage he has done since Jan. 2008. |
| Still looking for that voice of reason, OP. Who has the answer? |
