NCSL Team Manager Question - Yellow Cards

Anonymous
This is my first year as a team manager and have a question about how yellow cards work. I know I can ask my club admin, but wanted to get an answer before Monday if possible.

Someone on my team got a yellow card today and I have no idea what to do with it. My questions:
1) do I need to report it anywhere, or is it all honor system?
2) do the points move from game to game? For example, if she gets another yellow tomorrow does it accumulate?
3) if they accumulate, would she then sit out the rest of tomorrow’s game where she got the second yellow, or the following game? Or both?

I hope these questions make sense. Thanks!

1.) I think it is the honor system. Let the coach know.
2.) They are cumulative.
3.) A second yellow would mean a sit out the following game. Not the game they are in.

The rules are on the NCSL website, but buried in the rules. You should have a club NCSL rep who can clarify also.

Yellow cards will be on the NCSL website when you log into your team page. You can track points that way. Just keep an eye on point accumulation for that player. Eventually if he gets enough (20 I think and a yellow is 5) he owes a sit out, and you’ll need the form off their website. Worth reading the rules so you don’t get a surprise though.

NCSL tracks the cards. Refs will report them in their game reports. If they accumulate 15 points it is a sit out and then you need to bring a sit out form to the game, have it signed and then return to the League. The player should not dress nor sit with the team for the sit out game. Not doing the sit out will result in steeper penalties. The NCSL website has extensive instructions on discipline.

NCSL has Fall 2024 New Team Admin Meeting Presentation (slides & recording) that will tell you how to handle cards. The ref will turn in cards given with score to NCSL. NCSL has a button on your team page after you log in called person receiving cards.
