| Our family absolutely loved Portugal as a summer vacation - Lisbon, Sintra, and the Algarve. If we love that blend, where to next summer? |
|
Are you British? Algarve makes me think maybe? If so, have you been to coastal Turkey? I’d you enjoyed the Algarve, I feel like you’d like the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts.

If June: roadtrip from Seville to Ronda to Granada to Nerja
If July/August: Costa Brava and Barcelona |
| Croatia and/or Montenegro |
| Northern Italy, Tuscany |
| Tenerife! |
| Spain for sure |
| Iceland |
| What did you like about it? Food? Hiking? Weather? |
| Nice, France. Crete. |
Can you tell us more about why you loved it? We are thinking of this for our trip next summer with four teenagers and would love more info! |
|
Yes, we brought our elementary age girls, but teens would love too.
The kids like beach vacations and shopping and one is a picky eater. Museums, not to much. Lisbon has a “vacation” vibe, and it’s such a beautiful city that we could explore, and at the same time, they loved all the shops, hopping in a Tuk Tuk or a trolley. Me and my husband loved the food while kids found stuff they liked everywhere. In the algarve, we stayed at a condo that had a shared pool outside our balcony, could walk to shops/restaurants, and had a rental car to explore a different beach area each afternoon. It was all heavenly
We haven’t done much international travel as a family, but many places im interested in going I think the kids would be bored and complain…dragging them around the heat in crowds to look at churches and museums. Might sound shallow/spoiled, but trying to think of other destinations where we get the mix of beach, culture, good food, that kids and adults love. |
Southern Spain is just too hot in the summer, even in June. |
| Northern Spain, Istanbul and coastal Italy, east coast of Italy, Croatia/montenegro |
| You missed the best part of Portugal, can't believe you didn't go to Porto and the Douro Valley, OP!!!! |
