ISO plastic surgeon for mole removal from face

Hello all,

Looking for a skilled plastic surgeon who can remove mole near my eye, after having a bad experience with a dermatologist removing a mole in the past. Any suggestions? Also, if you've gone this route, did you have any luck with insurance covering the mole removal fee from a plastic surgeon versus a standare dermatologist, when it is considered necessary to remove a mole, but a preference to go to a plastic surgeon v. dermatologist?

I am interested in any recommendations too, having had a similar dermatologist experience (twice, actually).

I believe moles are covered by insurance as they are potentially medically problematic. If it were just a skin tag being removed it would be considered "cosmetic" only. Can you get a referral to the surgeon of your choice (can your doc recommend someone ?)

I had a prominent mole on my cheekbone, near my eye, removed. Because it was large and on my face, my dermatologist recommended that I go to a plastic surgeon to have it excised. The bill was paid by insurance.

My doctor is at Belmont Aesthetic in Chevy Chase. They did a very good job.
