I hope I don't see any tea partiers in my neighborhood (20016)

I might run them over. Please stay on the Mall, federal property and your Virginia hotels.

Good news, you are outside the "safe zone":

The Tea Party Guide to DC

I love the note they have there:

"You can travel safely in this area without encountering immigrants, Africans, homosexuals, automatic weapons, or homosexuals with automatic weapons. If you avoid the Green and Yellow Metro lines. And buses. And coffee shops. And restaurants. And taxis."

Okay so who is Laura and why does she represent the Tea Party? Really, did you check out her IP address to just so you could be sure? Jeff, you know better...

The original post is some blogspot post, which appears serious/legit and probably isn't as bad as it says -- although I am surprised they're recommending staying at hotels along Route 1 south of Alexandria.

Also surprised they tell you to avoid the Yellow Line, at least in Virginia it is quite safe. Hell, it even goes through the Pentagon.

Many of the other posts are sarcastic, etc.

I'm surprised many of the Tea Partiers are staying in Communist Country that is not part of the Real Virginia, however.

Do you think this link was a joke?

That link is indeed a joke. It's based, however, on this link: http://paintmainered.ning.com/profiles/blogs/so-you-are-coming-to-the-828 , which is decidedly not a joke. Excerpt:
If you are on the subway stay on the Red line between Union Station and Shady Grove, Maryland. If you are on the Blue or Orange line do not go past Eastern Market (Capitol Hill) toward the Potomac Avenue stop and beyond; stay in NW DC and points in Virginia. Do not use the Green line or the Yellow line. These rules are even more important at night.

Yes, this thing is hilarious. If you want a real good laugh, check out the comments on the DCist website.

Hm. I live downtown and I'm trying to decide if I should laugh or cry. I'm just really sad inside...or maybe I'm to busy dodging machine gun fire to finish this post.

I spent the hour from 3:30-4:30 am reading the DCist comments (including discussions with the writer of the original "article", who is apparently a DC resident). Amazing.

Here is my suggestion. Wouldn't these boundaries make them more comfortable? I know I would be.

Yes, we are aware that conservative nutjobs are moving into violent protest. I thought it was mostly directed toward muslims though, but I guess attacking Democrats is the next logical step.

And the difference in projected violence between "run them over" - please see op - or set "set the car on fire"? One kills a human the other destroys property. Just observing. Lets all dial it back a notch or two, okay?

You would run someone over and commit, vehicular homicide? You need help.

I am pretty sure OP was sarcastic. But this poster above, I don't know. You don't see hippies knifing people these days, but you do see conservatives getting arrested with some frequency.
