| Where can I buy fresh ramen noodles in the area? The Korean markets in nova (Lotte, hmart) carry tons of fresh Chinese egg noodles in various shapes, but I'm having a hard time finding ramen. |
|
Hinata in Bethesda. Japanese store.
However, ramen is more about the broth, not the noodles. |
I disagree. A bad bowl of noodles (taste, not cooked properly) can bring down the overall dish, even if the broth is excellent. |
| HMart. Or make them yourself; it's not that difficult. |
| If you can't find them at Hmart or Lotte then you have no idea what you're looking for *eyeroll* I have purchased them from Hmart myself. |
Can you link to what you bought? |
You sure they were ramen noodles? Chinese egg noodles resembling ramen noodles is not ramen. |
| Whole Foods has them but they come with a broth concentrate. |
| I find them in my asian store in the refrigerated section. I bet they are at Hmart hiding somewhere. |
BUT NOT FRESH. |
The do have fresh, in the refrigerated section. Brand is Sun Noodle. |
| Honeygrow has fresh, uncooked. I have got those several times, very good quality. |
| What HMArt has them? Or what specific product are you finding? Np here and I haven't been able to find fresh Ramen at my HMart either. |
Wheaton, Fairfax, and Annandale all have fresh ramen. Myojo brand is always in stock plus they usually have Sun as well. 99 Ranch in Fairfax also has the Sun brand. That being said, I make a lot of ramen and I've found that if you want noodles that more resemble the ones you get at restaurants around here (Daikaya, Ren's, Toki) the Maruchan fresh yakisoba ones actually work the best. Myojo's are too soft, Sun's are too chewy, Maruchan yakisoba is just right. |
