The Clinton era. A simpler time.
A friend is in town visiting and I want to take him to places that will call to mind that era (when he lived large here...now lives in rural New England). On my roster - Old Ebbitt Grill (maybe), Cafe Milano, Mr. K's. Any other ideas?? |
| Kramers, Le Bistro du Coin, The Shrimp Boat, Florida Ave Grill, Ben’s, Cafe Citron, The Tombs, Guapos, Dukem |
| The Monocle |
| Morton’s, re-living when it was Duke’s. |
| A lot of the expense account places are gone or shells of their former selves. Of those still kicking well, Milano is still very much a scene. Capital grille downtown evokes the vibe even though it’s a chain. Monocle is good but is even more old school than that. Ebbitt is always busy - tourists and locals. Bombay Club was a Clinton favorite and has just spruced itself up. So many of the others have gone. |

Ahh, that was a great time in DC.
Definitely the Tombs. I also used to go to Georgia Browns a lot during that time. It’s still open! (Although I probably haven’t been in 30 years.) and Chef Geoff’s? |

Ah— the nostalgia.
I’m still a 90s Democrat, but I don’t recognize my party any more than the never Trumpers recognize theirs. Cheers! |
| Go go era? Not the places suggested. |
Yeah these responses don't match that part of the question. |
| OP didn't mean mean gogo music. I was confused by the subject too until I saw the post. |
| I think OP means “go go” in a different sense than some of you DC-ites are thinking. |
| Do you know anyone who belongs to the Georgetown Club? |
