For girls or boys, discuss.
And on the other side, what do you consider the hardest sport to get recruited for if you do not have elite talent? |
Easiest: fencing. Not a lot of competition. |
is crew or water polo easy?
hardest? basketball |
You won’t be recruited if you’re only a reasonably strong athlete looking for an easy sport. There are too many natural talents out there. Just like the naturally brainy kids get Ivy Leagues. |
Water polo is not easy…tons of kids from west coast play. Crew is easier. Basketball and soccer are tough for boys. Everything is easier for girls because less competition and Title IX |

Just be a girl or do crew |

Crew based on this. |
I wwas coming here to say crew. It’s a punishing sport and it requires a tremendous amount of time but my kid isn’t even that fast and will easily be able to row at a mid-tier D3 school. If you are fast then the sky’s the limit. |
Recruited as in getting some or all of school paid for? None. You need to actually be very good at something for that.
Able to get a spot on a team to say you're a D I athlete? For girls only, crew or fencing. |
This |
Or better yet be a girl AND do crew. Also, while you may not get money at at a D3 school it does help with admissions! |
With the right build, volleyball |
if you are looking for a sport in HS you probably will not be recruited.
this is a dumb discussion |
For a girl, just be reasonably good at lacrosse. Literally thousands of college womens' lacrosse teams. The most mediocre players easily get recruited D3. |
