| It is the most needlessly-complicated piece of administrative garbage. |
| Breathe. Yes, there are a lot of drop-down menus. You can do the whole thing in an hour or two, except for the essays. And then merely click to apply to additional schools. Once it's done, you'll forget that it was a little tedious. |

As one of the many parents on here who remembers typing each college application individually, I say, thank God for the common app.
The only big problem is that, back in the day, a senior applied to maybe three or four colleges and then ran out of steam. Now kids hit "apply" 20 or more times. It's the number one reason why colleges are flooded with applications. But be happy. |
| Well, you should not be using the Common App! It's for your STUDENT to complete. |
So agree! Didn’t have an issue with common app |
You do realize there are students on DCUM, don't you? |
C’mon! You know a mom wrote that. |
DP. Nah, seems to me that a kid wrote it. Moms who hand-wrote or typed apps in "olden" times do not complain about the tedium of the Common App. |
This. My DS did it in about that time. You don't need to do it all at once. It's way better than filling out 10 separate applications. |
|
Have you considered using the school specific or Coalition App.
|
| It's better than the Coalition App. |
Right, but many schools have extra essays. |
| Why are you doing your kids application? weird |
Is being a teen mom a hook? |
| I’m happy to let you borrow my typewriter OP. |
