| How is middle school at stone ridge? Do they accommodate students who are accelerated in math? How is the administration in terms of connecting with students and parents? |

SR starts differentiating in math in 7th grade so most of the class takes pre algebra while one section takes pre algebra with analysis, in 8th it’s algebra or algebra with analysis. For students coming from outside schools they will occasionally place them with the grade ahead if they’ve already completed the coursework and pass a placement test. In general the math classes go deep and the school doesn’t believe in going ahead more quickly.
The administration sends a lot of communication to parents and is open to more frequent discussions as issues arise. Academically and socially it’s been a good fit for our family. |

DD just started last week in 6th grade, but so far so good. She was able to connect with a bunch of girls during her shadow day and stayed in touch with them over the summer. So she had thankfully already made friends before the year started. It also helps that they have a sizeable amount of new girls starting in 6th grade this year.
There is a lot of communication coming from the school; almost to the point that it's overwhelming. A lot of it is repeat info coming from multiple sources, which helps to make sure the info is received, so I do appreciate that. I'm assuming it will die down a bit as the year progresses. I also appreciate the numerous opportunities for parent involvement and interaction. |
