How to find out if playground equipment will be replaced at a holding school?

There is a holding school up the street from me. So, every few years we get an elementary school in there while theirs is being renovated. Right now there is a school coming that was also there last year. Over the summer they taped caution tape on a piece of playground equipment and then came and removed it. How do I find out if/when they are going to replace it. I am actually assuming they are not going to just b/c it's a holding school.

My children were at a holding school several years ago. The facilities were VERY bad (especially the bathrooms) but no one was willing to spend any money on them because they were moving out. I would be surprised if a holding school was getting a new playground..though maybe if there were safety issues the county would have to.

I would think if the holding school is there to stay (the one in Bethesda houses a new school every 2 years or so) they would replace playground equipment becasue another school is coming right in behind this one. If it's just a one-shot deal and the building will be for something else when this school is gone, then probably not. ALthough bummer for the kids who have to be there this year with nothing to play on.

I've lived here for 6 years and we have had 3 different schools in the holding school since I moved in. Prior to that I was told it was used as county offices and prior to that it was empty for awhile. I have no idea if it will continue to house schools as they renovate. I'm only assuming it might since it has been 6 straight years already. Not only does it stink for the kids going to the school, but also for the kids in the neighborhood. It is nice to have a "playground" so close to home. What was taken out was a piece of equipment with 2 slides on it (the only slides on the playground).

Maybe you are talking about Northlake? MCPS spends some money on playgrounds but usually the PTA's contribute large amounts too. No PTA is going to spend any money on a holding school...and of course no one will lobby MCPS either..except perhaps the neighbors. It was miserable to be at Northlake!

That is what I thought. Al least they are mowing the lawn.
