Anyone wants a buffet server for the heavily discounted price of $14,000?
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1052516092901955? I get that it is a solid piece and probably cost that much when they bought it, but is there even a market for these? And who in their right mind would spend so much on used furniture unless its some rare piece? |

| How do you know it’s not a rare piece? |
| Well, that’s what they want to get for it. Doesn’t mean it’s worth it. |
I suspect it's one of a kind. |
|
It’s FB. What did you expect?
If it’s a real piece of furniture, I’d be surprised. |
| If it’s Edwardian or some such, some truly antique piece in good condition, it is probably quite valuable. |
| Just because something might belong in a museum, doesn't mean anybody should pay that kind of money to put that hideous thing in their house. That is one tacky piece of furniture. |
You must be joking. Put in the right room, it would be beautiful. |
This. It's a beautiful piece of furniture----the inlaid wood is reminiscent of Sorrento (and it ay actually originate from southern Italy). Yes, it's very ornate, but with the right mix of more modern and minimalist decor, it will make the room. |
| It’s inlaid with an intricate design, which takes real craftsmanship. Value is relative, so not sure the outrage. |
| I don't know enough about furniture to gauge the market value, but I hope if it is that the sellers put it on the sites where buyers of pricey furniture would look, which probably isn't fb marketplace |
| Honey, put down your computer and head straight to Crate and Barrel. You'll feel so much better. |
If it's a rare piece, wouldn't they mention the details? |
