| I hired a contractor through my local Home Depot after getting an estimate and agreeing to it. The Home Depot salesperson who handled the estimate ghosted me a month later. I just reached out to corporate and the salesperson emailed me after and wrote that he didn’t know how to order the materials. That’s the last time I use Home Depot for any installation work. |

| I used Home Depot to install carpet and they were great. It probably depends on the store. |
Does it? If I ever move, maybe I’ll reconsider, but for now… |
| I don’t think it depends on the store. Home Depot subs out their work and it’s just luck of the draw whether you get a good one or not. Most subs wouldn’t want to work through Home Depot because they guarantee lowest price, therefore the sub gets paid the lowest price. Perhaps some trades are better than others through Home Depot. Home Depot also has a referral program and those subs get discounts when they shop there, so they have some incentive. |

Ok?
They did floor/carpet installation for me a year or so ago and were fantastic. |
| We had a good experience with Home Depot for storm door installation, though it was a long process. |
| Also had good experience for a new front door. But it was a hassle setting it all up. The workers though were great. |
| I thought this was common sense, OP. |
| Depends on the store. WE drive past the Home Depot closest to us and go to one on the other side of MoCo. |

The Home Depot employee actually told me that he didn’t know how to order the product I needed. The problem was not with the subs, but I had to order through Home Depot to use these subs. I went to the store and the employees there said that I had to work with the employee who told me he couldn’t order the hardware because he was the one earning the commission.
This is nuts. Bye, Felicia. |
| We stopped using home depot after they sold my mother a used refrigerator...advertised as new. |
Do they do stair runners too? |
That’s a store manager problem. So is the refusal to do work thing. If your local store manager is not corrupt, you’ll be fine. If they are…you’ll find out. |
| Uh oh - just got a really good quote from HD for window installations (Simonton) and HD seemed pretty reasonable. Anyone done window installations with HD? |
